When commissioning a website, businesses always want an exact deadline. Online advertisements promise a website in 1–2 days. In reality, a quality custom-built product requires clearly staged work, with each step taking a logical amount of time.
The first stage is requirements analysis and planning (3–5 days). Business goals and competitors are studied, and a structural wireframe is created. Next comes UI/UX design (1–3 weeks), when a designer creates the website's visual appearance for computer and phone screens alike.
Once the design is approved, frontend and backend development begin. This is the most labor-intensive stage (2–4 weeks): pages come to life, and contact forms, payment systems, the administration panel and the database are connected. Quality assurance testing and content entry follow.
Interestingly, project delays are often caused not by developers but by clients providing texts, photographs or design feedback late. When both parties work in an organized way, even complex projects are delivered within the agreed deadlines.
