The ultimate purpose of an online store or service website is to generate revenue. Enabling customers to pay directly on the website requires several legal and technical stages. In Armenia, this process has clearly defined standards.

The first step is choosing a bank and signing an internet acquiring (vPOS) agreement. Banks such as Ameriabank, Inecobank and Converse Bank require the website to clearly display a refund policy, delivery terms, privacy policy and the organization's legal details.

Technically, the bank supplies API documentation and a sandbox test environment. Developers connect the website to the bank's server. When a customer clicks ‘Pay,’ they are securely redirected to the bank's protected page, enter card details with 3D Secure verification and return to the website after successful payment.

Beyond cards, electronic wallets are extremely widespread in Armenia. Integrating Idram and Telcell lets shoppers pay by phone by scanning a QR code or entering a wallet number. This substantially increases the payment success rate.
