Website speed is no longer merely a technical metric: it is an official factor in Google's search algorithm. Google's Core Web Vitals evaluate real website usability through three main parameters: LCP (loading speed), INP (interaction responsiveness) and CLS (visual stability).
The biggest problem slowing most Armenian websites is unoptimized media. Photographers' 5–10 MB images are uploaded without compression. These should be converted to WebP, resized to actual display dimensions and lazy-loaded, with priority reserved for images above the fold.
The second factor is reducing heavy JavaScript and unnecessary external libraries. Complex animations, unused CSS and dozens of tracking tags (analytics scripts) clog the browser's main thread, causing the website to freeze when buttons are clicked.
Modern frameworks such as Next.js have built-in automatic image optimization, code splitting and server-side rendering. This makes it possible to reach the green zone, 90–100 points, in PageSpeed Insights on desktop and mobile alike.
