Online store development cost: features and budget

What determines an online store's price: cart, payment systems, 1C integration and inventory synchronization.

Online store costs and feature budgeting

Developing an online store is an investment requiring clear financial planning. Unlike a basic brochure website, an online store is a complex interactive system handling money and customers' personal data.

The first budget component is platform development: catalog, search and filters, cart, checkout and customer account. Standard functionality is sufficient for a few hundred products. Thousands of products, however, require an optimized database and fast search algorithms.

The second factor is integrations. Bank agreements, ArCa/vPOS setup and Telcell/Idram QR payments require experienced developers. If the company uses 1C, iiko or another accounting application, automatic inventory and price updates also belong in the budget.

Remember that a quality online store starts recovering its costs in the first months if it is convenient, fast and delivers high sales conversion.
