Many small businesses in Armenia begin on Instagram or Facebook. These are excellent starting platforms for building an audience. But as orders increase, Instagram becomes a bottleneck holding back business development.
The main problem is the enormous volume of manual work. Answering ‘How much?’, ‘Is size M available?’ and ‘How do I pay?’ hundreds of times daily in direct messages requires several managers. If a customer receives no reply within 10 minutes, they simply go to another page. On your own website, shoppers choose products, check sizes, pay and receive confirmation themselves.
The second danger is dependence on an external platform. Any change to Meta's algorithms or unexpected suspension can paralyze your entire business instantly. A website is your own protected digital asset, where the customer database belongs exclusively to you.
The ideal approach combines both. Instagram serves as a visual marketing tool, directing shoppers through the link in your bio to the website for immediate purchases.
